There are crabs to be eaten and bands to be danced to, so what are you waiting for? This weekend is stuffed with fun events- almost as stuffed as you'll be after the all-you-can-eat buffets and seafood festivals we've found for you.

"The Town that Fooled the British": St. Michaels, MD will come alive this weekend for the bicentennial celebration of the “Town that Fooled the British.” This 200th anniversary of the St. Michaels Battle during the War of 1812 will be a widespread festivity, which means more people and more fun! Watermen's Appreciation Day: On Sunday, St. Michaels continues the party to celebrate watermen culture with all-you-can-eat steamed crabs, skipjack rides, boat docking contests and even some surprise celebrity appearances. Tickets must be purchased, and included in ticket price is the crab feast, hotdogs and hamburgers, drinks and other sides. The party wouldn’t be complete without drinks, so cold beer and soda will be offered as well.  Show your appreciation of Bay culture by joining the crowds. Summertime Salsa: If you’ve been itching to get your groove on but can’t seem to find a place to do it, TowneBank Fountain Park in Norfolk, VA is hosting a Summertime Salsa event from 7-10 p.m. There will be tons of people cha-chaing, salsaing and line dancing, so grab some friends and get out there- these hot Latin beats will get you on your feet in no time. Summertime Salsa has more information.

Seafood Fest-I-Val: It would be a crime not to share news of an all-you-can-eat seafood festival, so here it is: On August 10, in Cambridge, MD, the 34th annual Seafood Fest-I-Val will treat the masses to steamed crabs, fried fish, and fried virtually anything else that once called the sea its home. Barbecue chicken, watermelon, and hotdogs will also be offered along with beer, which can be purchased by the cup.  There will also be live music and a car show, so check out how to buy festival tickets here. Loosen your belt- this event is sure to be delicious!

The "Black Gold" of the Chesapeake: We know we usually provide weekend plans, but when we caught wind of this event we had to share the news. Monday, August 12 is the History Monday program’s sunset cruise on the Schooner Woodwind, and the topic is “Oysters and Oyster Wars.” From 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., learn about the history, scandals, and violence surrounding one of the Chesapeake’s most influential industries. Tickets are $42 for adults with varying prices for seniors and children.
