Amnesiac Found in CA Wearing Annapolis T-Shirt

Do you know Sam?

Officials are searching for clues to the identity of an amnesiac woman found in Southern California in February. She appears to be in her 50s and speaks English with a slight Australian accent. She has vague memories of being on a boat "for months, not a cruise ship but a smaller boat with a crew."

After she was found in Carlsbad, CA, she was taken to a hospital where a volleyball-sized tumor was found on her uterus. Sam had emergency surgery to remove the tumor, which doctors say might be the culprit in her amnesia.

"(Proteins) can bind to the cells in the brain in areas that are important in memory," said Dr. Alan Lerner, director of the Brain Health and Memory Center at University Hospitals Case Western Reserve Medical Center, adding further that ovarian tumors have been known to cause memory loss.

Sam has a Facebook page set up to allow her to communicate with any possible contacts or relatives looking for her. On the page, she describes dreams she has had of Australia, where authorities believe she may be from.

Sam is in her mid 50s, five feet seven inches tall, has white (looks super blond to me...) hair and brown eyes. When found, she was wearing a navy blue t-shirt that read "Annapolis Harbor" on it, blue shorts, and Sperry boat shoes.
