A delicious Smith Island Cake is our favorite thing to bring as a hostess gift for any holiday party. And a big part of the cake's allure is always the explanation of its history and significance. So we were delighted to see CBS Sunday Morning feature the cakes in a short segment recently.
The Smith Island Baking Company recently moved its location from Smith Island to Crisfield, prompting many to wonder whether the tradition of baking the cakes on the island continues. It's so nice to see Rita Braver doing what she's doing. We'll take one of her cakes... absolutely.
