The May SpinSheet Magazine is on the Docks
The grass has grown tall with all those April showers, and you can tell by the number of sails you can see looking out on the Chesapeake Bay that we are (finally) in the season we sailors dream about!
As well as highlighting all the exciting events along the Bay from the Chestertown Tea Party on May 23 to the Hampton Blackbeard Festival on May 30, SpinSheet has found some “project boat” owners and shared their stories in our feature “New Life for Old Boats.”
Weeknight racing starts in May on the Bay, and we can’t wait to get back out there! In this month’s edition, we discuss the spirit of friendship and fun inherent in the weeknight tradition and give racing sailors suggestions for “hitching a ride” in 2008.
All the regular crew members have contributed:
- Jack Hornor reviews the Flying Scot in the Used Boat Marketplace
- Kim Couranz talks about being a “green crew” (as well as being the subject of this month’s APS Chesapeake Racer Profile)
- Dock Walkin’ is the subject of Stephanie Stone’s Baltimore Beat
- Chesapeake Rambler Fred Miller waxes philosophic about boat art…
We are currently working on the June edition. For advertising information, please call 410.216.9309.
More than 80 Used Boat Reviews from the SpinSheet Magazine archives are posted.
SpinSheet has created a great resource for new sailors - Start Sailing Now. Perfect for anyone who is interested in trying the sport. Be careful, though. If you're not already hooked on sailing, you will be!
