Julianne Fettus: 51 Days as of September 11

When I first heard of the Century Club challenge, I knew I had a crutch since my husband and I live-aboard, and are at anchor from May through October which means multiple dingy rides every day. So I decided to take the "Challenge" part of the Century Club Challenge to task, and aimed to get as many of those 100 days as possible by really pushing myself to get out there and try new things. So far I'm up to 51 of those "challenge" days, If I do count my dingy commuting and the allowed boat work days , then I've hit 100 - no problem. From May through August I've been averaging 12 "other" days a month, which is around 3 days a week.

Considering I work full time (not on the water :-) ) and don't get home 'til well after 8pm that's not too bad. I've had a lot of fun adding "first" and "new" to my list of on the water adventures so far this year: races that are new to me (Down the Bay Race, AYC Overnight, GSA Northern Bay Regatta, EYC Solomon's), finally getting to see some new places (Falmouth and Martha's Vineyard), and my first offshore delivery (from Bermuda to Annapolis), all sprinkled in with the everyday fun of taking our dingy out to watch the Wednesday night Races or go fishing, and getting our Kayak out into the water more often. Fall sailing is here and I'm looking forward to continuing the challenge of getting out there and pushing off the dock. Thanks for the inspiration!

The fish photos are during the Bermuda to Annapolis delivery, and were taken by Tom Carrico. The Return to the Bay photo was also from the Bermuda to Annapolis trip, heading into Little Creek for our first landfall since our departure and was taken by Bob Murphy. The breakfast there at Captain's Galley at Vinings Landing Marina was great, and it didn't slide around your lap. The photo of the Dogs on the aft Deck Couch was from the trip from Falmouth to Martha's Vineyard aboard Bhaile with Chris Sullivan and Carrie Gentile Sullivan, picture was taken by Carrie. Carrie's dog Sam, and my dog Mattie starred in that one, but heck, they were out enjoying the water too !
