After a wonderful summer of racing and cruising on the Chesapeake, the members of Herrington Harbour Sailing Association still have plenty on the agenda.

Some are busy winterizing their boats for haul-out, but the Frost Bite Series of non-spin races continues into mid-December on Herring Bay. Competition is frosty and fierce, and takes place on Sundays. Always a good time!

At the Annual Fall Meeting on November 9th, presentations were given summarizing the activities of the 2013 season, and  board members for 2014 were introduced and elected. Former Commodore Maris Eshleman, as a nominating committee of one (!) came up with a great slate: Bev Wright, Commodore;  Larry Brown, Vice-Commodore; Dave McCullough, r/c Racing; Paula Grenier, r/c Cruising; Laurie Albert, r/c Social; Peter Seckinger, r/c Communications; Michel Jichlinski, Secretary/Treasurer; Ted Slotwinski, Newsletter Editor; Arne Fliflet, Past Commodore. All those elected are enthusiastic about their new roles and making 2014 HHSA's best year ever!

In the meantime, though,  members are invited to a Holiday Celebration at Tom and Judy Lampley's home on Sunday, December 15th.... the perfect opportunity to swap tales (with embellishments, of course) of your best racing and cruising feats of 2013! Among those with bragging rights are the High Point winners in this year's racing program: Keith Mayes, Jubilee in Spin A; Dave Johnson, Avenger in Spin B; Mark Burrows, Julep in Non-Spin; and the top three in High Point totals: Keith Mayes, Jubilee; Rich Griner/Greg Coffey, Coyote; and Dave Johnson, Avenger. Kudos to all! For more news from HHSA, or information on becoming a member, go to hhsa.org.
