QKWRW Day One: Getting Ready

Thanks to Adventures of a Sailor Girl, we're happy to stay on top of Quantum Key West Race Week through live coverage. Here, you can watch Ed Baird give the daily weather briefing.

There's plenty of breeze out of the east today, with winds in the 10-15 range expected for the two races planned. The harbor start is set for 9:30 a.m. The "featured class of the day is Division 1 with TP52s and J/111s.

In addition to Interlodge, Quantum Racing, Platoon, Interlodge, and Gladiator are all in the mix within the TP52 fleet. Look for Terry Hutchinson to have some stiff competition this year.

QKWRW Race Committee shared this post of their practice race. If you're in Key West and want to hear more about sailing a TP52 from a credible source, check out the 6 pm panel "Top Lessons from the TP52 Coaches James Lyne and Rod Davis."

Yes, SpinSheet focuses on sailing on the Chesapeake Bay, but with all the Bay sailors headed down to Key West for the week, we had to tag along as a sponsor. Check back to this page for frequent results, videos, and more. We'll be updating the page regularly throughout the day.
