Navy Fights Overseas in Student Yachting World Cup

The US Naval Academy is currently competing against 13 other sailing teams in the Student Yachting World Cup. The team (helmsman Neil McMillan, bowman Roscoe Thomas, trimmer Alexa Ciarolla, and pitman Charlie Morris) qualified for the SYWoC by winning the Kennedy Cup, the Intercollegiate Big Boat Championship, in 2012.

This year's SYWoC is raced on J/80s, a change from the Grand Suprises that have been used in the past. You can read more about Navy's SYWoC run in November's SpinSheet, on newsstands November 1, or check out the website between now and October 19, the last day of racing. Until then, check out the great video, courtesy the SYWoC. And Go Navy, Beat France!
