Trashed? Be Part of the Solution

Found on a remote BVI beach. Every bit of trash has a story...

Can you choose one day this year to pick up trash on the beach? Here's a chance to be involved with an international effort to clean up our acts and preserve the water we love to sail on. Join the Ocean Conservancy's International Ocean Clean-Up.

A few Chesapeake clean-ups are already on the map. Don't see your favorite creek? Why not gather some family and friends and start your own.

Last year, volunteers like you picked up over 10 million pounds of trash from beaches and waterways all over the world during the International Coastal Cleanup. That’s equal to the weight of 41 blue whales or 10 Boeing 747 jumbo jets!

Here are the TOP TEN ITEMS found last year. Surprised?

This year, we they even more volunteers to break last year's record and make a bigger difference for our ocean.
Every piece of trash we pick up is one less item dirtying the places we love, one less item that could end up in the ocean and one less item that could potentially harm the wildlife we work every day to protect.

Keep our oceans and waterways healthy by participating in a Cleanup near you.
