A four day regatta, first day no winds flat seas like a mirror, day 2 gale warnings so no racing, and spectacular sailing days 3 and 4 for 35 J/105s from all over North America!  What a great way to end the year doing RC on the water all day!

Launched kayak from Full Circle and explored Lake O, and it was 5-10 kts so the back was wet and I slipped getting out of it and fell in.  Feeling a little apprehension now with water temp 55 degrees, and only want to go out when there is no wind LOL!  Have to respect Mother Nature even with a wet suit on   I WILL get in one more day!  I really miss being on the water but am very proud of myself to get in 104 days so far!   Thanks Spinsheet for the inspiration to go out and push myself!  ⛵️

An overnight cruise with good sailing, an almost full moon, and a beauiful night on the hook with Gallivant and Full Circle.  Some leaves have changed color but not as many as we were hoping for!   Love fall sailing!

Friends from Sailing Club of the Chesapeake, Rob and Linda Leigh live on the Wye River, and always tell us to come visit, that we have our slip at their dock.  We finally took them up on it, NO WIND getting there from Annapolis, but watching the start of the Schooner Race, and the cloud formations makes for magic on the water taking you back in time!

Gallivant also joined us, and 8 of us had happy hour aboard Gallivant, owned by John Murray and Jill Hansen, and then amazing large crabs on their porch looking out at the water as the sun set.

After chatting on the porch the next day, Rob pushed us to anchor overnight at one of their favorite creeks on the Wye, Pickering Creek.  Rob and Linda have a beautiful Bristol 38 and due to physical limitations sail mostly with the jib, playing music, and taking it all in, savoring it.  We anchored, and saw no houses, just wildlife, fish jumping, and a million stars in the sky after dinner in the cockpit.  It doesn't get better than this!  We hung around until 2 pm Friday before heading back to Annapolis, an epic Sailng day, but we had to get home before dark due to our slip so didn't sail.  The cloud formations were like artwork in the sky, and just amazing!   We all need to take the time to discover the beautify of the many tributaries the Chesapeake has to offer, we couldn't see them all in a lifetime!

  • Missing someone special

A short kayak as I was ansy to get out on the water, but seeing I could barely see Arabella at anchor or the bay bridge, opted for a quick kayak around Lake Ogelton!  Winds picked up, but no rain at least!   Soothes the soul, my "yoga" for the day!

I had a memorial to listen to and thought, it's a beautiful day, I'll listen while kayaking, and it was so peaceful.  Lorraine was a sailor so it was very appropriate to be on the water

I had the pleasure of being the commentator for spectators who were VIP Sponsors for the Annapolis YC overnight Doublehanded race on board a beautiful Sabre 42, BLUE CHIP, owned by Alan and Kathy Shearer who were such welcoming hosts.  It was a wild day on the bay with 4 regattas going on, day sailors and cruisers everywhere thanks to the beautiful chamber of commerce weather which made for washing machine conditions.

We also took a run up the Severn to show our guests who don't get out on the water a beautiful tributary that is much calmer.    We had a fabulous 3 hours

An afternoon with breezes up and down with good friends, some music and floating.  We all said it's amazing how we forget everything else going on in our lives when out there on days like this, 5 hours!
