What to do?

Fawcetts2For obvious reasons, we here at SpinSheet have a strong connection to the old Fawcett's building located on Compromise Street in downtown Annapolis. So we have a strong interest in seeing that area rejuvenated, after three years of vacancy.

Obviously this isn't a cut-and-dry issue. And obviously Annapolitans are very passionate about this space. So we're reserving our judgment for the time being, and just want you to be aware of how to have your voice heard. Here's how you can follow along with the plan.

Tomorrow, the Coalition to Save Annapolis will meet at the Fleet Reserve Club at 100 Compromise Street. The group is "comprised of organizations and individuals concerned about the potential negative effects of the Annapolis City Dock Master Plan, and specifically the Annapolis City Council Ordinance O-7-13. The Coalition to Save Annapolis is working to ensure that the character and economic vitality of this great seaport is safeguarded against piecemeal and precedent setting "spot" zoning that if approved will erode the Maritime and Historic laws that have been in place for decades." The meeting starts at 11 a.m.

On Facebook, the Annapolis City Dock Master Plan has its own page. Go ahead and like them, and keep track of meetings and announcements. The next meeting is set for July 8.
