BCYA/MRSA Race to Baltimore

Not doing Screwpile? The BCYA-MRSA Race to Baltimore, starting July 18th,  is one of our favorite distance races on the Bay.

As in years past, this is a great point to point distance race on the bay. Depending on the wind, it will likely be greater than 20 NM. And you can easily make it a weekend of racing by signing up for the RCRA Star Spangled Classic- the "Race Back" from Baltimore on the 19th. There will be a great post race party once again at Anchorage Marina, which will include a band, food, and drinks, with party tickets available on the BCYA website.  In addition, the marina is offering discounted dockage to race participants.

Now for some of the new items that we are really excited about: In addition to the usual PHRF and Multihull classes, we will be offering two new classes this year- a "Shorthanded" class, as defined by CHESSS, and a "Cruiser" class, as defined by the Chesapeake Racer Cruiser Assoc. Including these two new classes fills some voids and opens some doors for boats and crews that might not otherwise race.  We are also introducing a "Best of Baltimore" trophy, that will be presented in the fall, at the BCYA Harbor Cup, to the boat that preformed the best in both races.  You don't have to do anything special to be in the running, just participate in both races! Sound like fun? Sign up today!
