Sailing is in my blood. I don't recall a time in my life when I wasn't sailing. That comes from my dad, Bob Ohler. I hope to be half the sailor he is someday. When we sail together, we don't even have to think about it. Regardless of who is on helm or trim, we're always a few seconds ahead of the other in making a change.
Of course I was hoping for 8 to 10 to celebrate 100 with him sailing. When the good people at sail flow predicted gusts to 4 in Solomons, we took advantage of the blocked off time to find another way on the water. Im busy at work, and I have 3 young kids. Boat time has to be scheduled and planned.

A beautiful winter day in the area north of Jug Bay by kayak to make 100. The thing i appreciate so much about my first century club, it's forced discipline. Its easy math. 8.3 days per month. In the rain, in the snow, in the heat, for breath taking sunsets and sunrises, just get out there. I don't live waterfront, and our family fleet of kayaks and canoes could be purchased for less than yearly slip fees in Annapolis.
Drop the excuses. Just start. Keep going. Enjoy the ride.
