Century Club: Ashley Love
We got in a 2.5 hour session well before the storm moved in! Sofia is really gaining confidence on the laser. She took some gybes like a champ and figured out all on her own how to get out of irons in moderate air.
What a hoot. Many hours of sun, swimming, touring and faking onlookers out with fake wipe outs.
The courses were parades with odd downwind starts on port.
We took the Boatyard Bar & Grill Film boat around to the city dock gas station to fill 'er up.
Only managed to get a practice start in between two monster storms!
The weather forecast of 3, gusting to 20 was very accurate. It felt like we experienced everything a boat would in an offshore race in the span of 2 hours. Confusing breeze, sideways rain with lightning and thunder, becalmed about to throw the anchor out to prevent moving backwards in the current when the breeze died and a 180 degree windshift to sail two legs, out and back, both upwind... We sang songs, we made up lyrics, we laughed and had a ball.

We took out some neighbors of Mike's that had never been on a sailboat before! A little while into the trip, we had them working the entire boat with all sails up. A rainbow at sunset, great views of the industrial workings of the city, Fort McHenry and the recently-placed Frances Scott Key buoy made for a great night on the water.
