This summer we did a 15 day trip around the Delmarva Pennasula - it was an amazing trip and we found so many cool places along the way [like Little Bay]. We did the outside ocean portion in a roughly 36 hours non stop and it was my husbands first time doing an ocean passage. I had no idea just how amazing that trip would be [and I have done a lot of ocean sailing]. We left Norfolk at 8pm and my 12pm-3am watch was peaceful and dark with bright stars and bioluminescence was so.much.fun. We spent the day sailing along Assateague- the miles upon miles, hours and hours of beach was so relaxing to enjoy. This trip taught us that we're ready and can't wait to see where next summer takes us!

Coming in just in time to get my 100 days in - These late season days of scrambling to make the most of my year are some of my favorites; stressful as they may be. I solemnly reflect on every passed on sailing/boating invitation from the warmer months. All while getting creating and mapping out just how I will reach my goal. Running into Will Keyworth on such a Saturday sailing session was a treat as he snapped some sweet photos of my ILCA and fur sailing buddy, Beaker. Beaker is a expert cruiser but that was his first time on the ILCA. We also got to spend Thanksgiving down in Florida on a friends new cruising boat; it's always so much fun to share sailing with friends in new places!

Can't wait for next year but I'm golad to be hanging up my dry suit for the last time of 2021!

There have been quite a few highlights over the passed few months; our annual August sail to the Sassafras, sailing the Stanley Norman skipjack, and exploring the Chester river. I also had the oppurtunity to catch up with old friends who were passing through on their sail south. This particular person gave me my start in keelboat racing when I was teenager. In a full circle moment, I took their teenage daughter out laser racing during their layover in town. It was pretty cool to see how sailing connects us throughout our different stages of life. Even though its nearly Thanksgiving, I feel confident I will make it too my 100th day before the years end! There's still plenty of time left and PLENTY of boat work to do :)
