Had expected to be racing but regatta cancelled due to lack of wind so went kayaking instead!

Had to lower lift to put bow cover on powerboat, so dropped her into the water and had a nice ride around Round Bay, checking out where some of the sailboats I race against are stored. Noce time out there! Slightly more than half a tank.
Weird wind to start the race. We're the third start, and the first start got away cleanly. Wind died shortly after second start went and right as we crossed the line. We wallowed in a wind hole with the other boats in our start, with some eeking their way forward slightly, and others backward. Then the wind filled in from the opposite direction, so on this first upwind leg, about half the boats put up their spinnakers. Then the wind clocked around to where it was supposed to be, so folks doused and tried to catch the wind. We didn't do as well as others, but once the breeze filled in to a stead 6 -8 knots apparent, we caught up to and passed several boats. Didn't pass enough, though, and came in 7th out of 12. 2 hour race in a beautiful evening anyway!
Took 9 cages worth of juvenile oysters we had fostered all winter to the oyster reef SRA is building on the S side of the Severn River Bridge and 'planted' them. Took a brig ride through Annapolis to see the sights and then motored on home. Beautiful afternoon - 84 degrees and 15-18 knots of wind.
Wind 16-21 apparent from the S. Reefed main and rolled some of the Genoa in, which kept us on our feet a tad more. Had four big guys but we were still knocked a lot. Course A to N to A to C and finishing at A. Decent upwind, better port tacks than starboard for some reason. Wind stronger at bottom of Round Bay. Downwind had reefed main out and going 5.3 knots. Unfurled Genoa and took reef out for second downwind and went wing and wing. Wish had not declared non-spin. Disappointing result. 7 th out of 11. Adventurous night!
8 to 12 true. good solo ride
Picked up buddy about 8:30 on Saltworks Creek in powerboat and with him moved all 8 RBSA race marks closer to their assigned spots.
Nice afternoon on Lark, hot though it was
