First night on the water practicing on Creekwater, J 27. Getting ready for Little Creek Racers. First race will be 4/8/26. It was just me, Andy and Tom braving the cold. We all wore foul weather gear and just did a simple practice around the bouys. Winds of 15-18 knots. Decided not to put up the Spinnaker and just shake the rust out. Set Free was the only other boat out there.

First night out for Willoughby Racers and new to Melantho, a J 97. We did race committee. It was a cold night with winds 15+ knots. Had a full crew of 10 racers. We were all freezing by the end of the night but fortunately they had a beer and pizza party for Al B's birthday. We all warmed up up at the Rebel Marina clubhouse.
Went out on Special K for a practice day. Sunny with sustained winds of 20-22 knots. I skippered for about and hour and a half and it was a good confidence builder! First time at the helm with such high winds. Crew was Me, Al, Tom, Marge a brand new sailor Kathy and Larry was our camera man. He got some great shots! We practiced the Willoughby race course.
First night out for Little Creek Racers. Was supposed to be last week but got cancelled due to high winds. We joined the Spin Fleet this year. Practiced raising and dousing before the race and worked out the kinks. We didn't end up using the Spinnaker as we were on a beam reach all night. Fairly warm but I did wear my bibs. Winds only 7-10 knots.
