3 Days with a new crewperson each day- Thanks to Jeff, Ben and Mario for helping us out!

Another incredibly competitive regatta!! Broke our broaching record for a race (3), but learned so much... Will definitely be going back!
Most competitive regatta we've been in so far. Decent weather, great wind (15-10 kts, gusting +20) awesome venue! First day got in a practive race, planed on nearly every leg of every race...exhausting but SO FUN!
The wind didnt cooperate, so not alot of sailing, unfortunately.
D and I spent over a week on a Conch Charters Beneteau 48, with 6 others, facilitated though Annapolis Sailing School. We hit Trellis Bay at Beef Island, The Baths and Bitter End Yacht Club at Virgin Gorda. Our favorite was Anegada Island- Tipsies, The Cow Wreck, Potters (great lobster!) and Loblolly beach. The bubble Beach, Foxy's Taboo, Foxy's, Ivan's Stress Free Bar (fantastic Buffet!), and the Soggy Dollar-all on Jost Van Dyke Island. Lastly, we spent a lost eventing at Willy T's in Bight Bay-Norman Island. There was alot of snorkeling: highlights at Anegada and the Caves at Norman Island. We also did a bit of hiking on Tortola, and tried mightily to avoid the contact highs at Cane Garden Beach clubs.
We will definitely do this again!!
The wind showed up Saturday, allowing a few races. But Sunday the wind completely disappeared with boats on the last leg of the race. Loved Tampa!
Two races for the day in a shifty 10 -12 knots out of the west. 75+ boats split over 7 starts on a very tight starting line- leading to some pretty exciting moments in each of the starts. In the second J/70, J/24, J/22 combined start, we witnessed some pretty fancy boat driving on port tack by Foreign Affairs giving them an early lead. The first leg was a close reach up the Severn River for a port mark rounding just short of the Navy bridge. Then onto a long downwind leg to the leeward mark at G5, with everybody coming at it from different directions. This was followed by a port rounding on G9 that led to a mad dash into Spa creek for the AYC finish. Four 70's showed up: Phoenix, Celerity, Fast Company, Foreign Affaris, all finishing a minute from the leader. Phoenix edged out the fleet for the win in the first race, but executed (I hate to say it) a beautiful slam-dunk on Celerity near the end of the second race, putting them 5 boat lenghts ahead for their second bullet. The day started out brisk, but warmed up enough to douse the foulies, allowing Fleet One participants to enjoy a shirt sleeve picnic at AYC between races. Not a bad way to spend a Sunday in November.
