Just three of us on the boat today for a two-lap triangle course. We had a downwind start, and I held the boat end but had to sail fairly high as I was pushed up by leeward boats. Ultimately the strategy worked fine, as we sailed gybe angles to the mark. We set off on a reach to V, followed by a loose beat to X. We executed a gybe set at the rounding for convenience, and ended up staying in better breeze as a result. We doused at the top mark for a jib reach to a shortened finish, and managed to pull off another first place by about 30 seconds. It's feeling great to be competitive in the fleet and show what the boat can do.
