Once or twice a year, for 30 years now, I have hosted my college roommates/fraternity brothers for a trip on the boat.  Our Boys Sails actually began in college in the 70s.  These were day sails on a Cape Dory 25 owned by one of them.  Our "modern history" of Boys Sails began in 1992 on my new to me then Sabre 32.

At first it was long weekends with the "boys" taking Friday off and sailing through Sunday. Along the way we occasional stretched to four days and often added a baseball game (Orioles).

About 15 years into our now 30 year history we made a trip to the BVI for a week long boys charter. That was so much fun we did it a couple more times and are going back in 2022 for our fourth week long charter.

The boats progressed from the Sabre 32 to a Catalina 380, then to a North Pacific 43 trawler and now to a Legacy 32. The trips also got longer and included some ICW legs.  Collectively we have shared a lot of miles together.

This week we planned a five day Boys Sail to include a Nationals game (by car, not taking the boat to Washington though we have thought about it). In planning our stops included Annapolis, Baltimore, Harve De Grace and Rock Hall.

The remnants of Hurricane Ida cut the trip in half.  We got our opening ballgame and time in Anapolis and Baltimore but headed back to the home dock before Ida's winds rain and tornados came through Annapolis.
