A 46' Swan positioned last fall for the 2020 summer in New England had its plans altered due to the pandemic.
The trip turned into a single rumbline, one way point, dead downwind sail with preventer from Montauk Point to Cape May with a large 6 - 8' east ground swell mixed with 20 knots NE wind and waves. Significant pitching and rolling for 24 hours, the night was as black as I have experienced offshore. A fair amount of frieghters in separation zones and fishing boats to keep track of, thank god for AIS. Temps out on the ocean never broke 49 degrees, all kinds of fun.
An amazing set up led to favorable currents up a very quiet motor up the Deleware Bay AND across the C&D canal, a first for me and everyone else on board.
