A steamy, suffocating day. The plan was to join friends on Pinafore (docked on the South River) for an AYC concert raft-up on Lake Ogleton, where we'd tie up with Whisper.
Best laid plans....
Whisper was out with engine trouble, and Pinafore's guest list seemed to be getting longer. Enter Heron. We picked up the hobbled Whisper crew on our boat, speeded to Lake Ogleton, and staked out a likely anhoring spot. They soon joined us, as did Beggar's Tomb.
Wine, food, conversation followed. The heat ultimately drove some of us -- including me -- into water I'd had no plan to swim in. I keep a swimsuit on each boat just in case of such emergencies.
