1 day

Got to the marina on this bright sunny day about 10:15 and were headed out by 10:45! Had full crew on board with north winds 5-10 knots... at least to start with. Temperature ranged from the high 60's to low 70's - but the sun felt nice!

Got the sails up quickly and headed down Langford creek. Once into the Chester, we headed towards the Corsica with the intent to head further up river - maybe stop at Conquest Beach.  There was a good amount of traffic out - no less than 5 or 6 sailboats and a number of powerboats.

We had good wind... that is, until we got right around Spaniard point and then the wind really just died off - but only around there (trees and land blocking the wind), so we turned and headed back westwardly in the Chester river basin with some lighter and variable winds.  We found that staying close to the mouth of Langford creek gave us some of the best wind, so we just enjoyed a day of sailing back and forth with no real destination in mind. About 4pm, we headed back up the creek towards Cacaway Island with some nice wind - and the first mate manning the helm. We anchored at Cacaway for dinner and then headed back to the marina. Got into the slip about 7pm - and were the last ones to leave the marina!! A lovely Mother's Day sail!
