Another absurdly warm winter day on the water.
I have been on the water since four years old but it never occured to me row. Then I went down the Grand Canyon in 2008 on a rowing raft for 21 days rowing 110 miles of the 205 miles we covered. Rowing some of the largest and longest rapids in North America, I was determined to keep rowing on my return.
Bought a Chester Yawl pulling boat kit from Chesapeake Light Craft (15', 100 lbs) picture here and have been rowing every since. This is the ultimate rowing boat for the bay, super light, quick and stable and works well in bay chop. The seat and foot brace are easily removed allowing for overnight camping on board, which I done a few times.
