After working on this a few weekend with other tasks, completed installation of compass. Sanding of binnacle by Dave, Paint by Steve, then Rich and I tapped a new bold thread and installed compass and wiring. Needed to modify base of compass frame for wire, then sealed the base with marine silicone.
The binnacle frame rail was lowered about 7" as well. It will be a better height.
