A quintessential early-season sail out to the Potomac River—one of those days that reminds me why I keep coming back.

This morning finally brought the kind of conditions I’ve been waiting for. After a couple of days of wind that was a bit beyond my comfort level, I jumped at the chance to get out.

The plan was to stay out for an hour or so, but the conditions were just too good. One hour turned into well over three before I headed back in.

The sailing season is just getting started, so hopefully there are many more days like this ahead.
