2/9 - Took Bubbles out for a last sail around BKH before heading off to hit the Bahamas. Got fuel on the way out and a little shakedown sail.
2/10 - Sailed from Boot Key Harbor to Rodriguez Key in preparation for making the jump over to the Bahamas.
2/11 - Left Rodriguez Key at 6:52am heading for the Berry Islands this will be an overnight sail!
2/12 - Continued the sail started on 2/11 and landed at Great Harbor Cay marina at 12:40pm where we checked into our slip, checked in with Customs and Immigration and waited for Whiskey to arrive!
2/14 - Sailed from Great Harbor Cay marina to Alders Cay. About a 7 hour sail. Really lousy anchorage, very swelly
2/15 - Alder's Cay back to Great Harbor Marina. Wasn't fun coming out of the cut. Have to time these better in the Bahamas!
2/18 - Sailed out of Great Harbor Cay marina to Hoffman's Cay to stage for the jump either to the Eleuthera's or New Providence Island. Buddy boat - Whilskey - damaged their rigging (lower spreader arm fell off) so we headed back to the marina (again)
2/19 - Great Harbor Cay marina out and around the top of the Berry's heading for Snake Cay which is very close to the Stirrup Cay's where Norwegian has its little "fun islands"
2/20 - Headed out Snake Cay for an overnight to the Eleuthera's. Wasn't sure exactly where we would go, figured we would have plenty of time to decide. Timed our "out" to late afternoon so we would be at the Egg Island cut for slack.
2/21 - Continuation of the previous day's sail arriving in Spanish Wells where we took a mooring a little before noon.
2/25 - Left Spanish Wells after the blow and headed to Meeks Patch where there is evidently pigs and turkeys on the island. We didn't go in. Nice anchorage...not too rolly.
2/26 - Meeks Patch to Queen's Bath. Had to go through Current Cut...where slack is about 1-1 1/2 hours after tide change. Mistimed this a bit and had to wait for a while, but got to our anchorage, dropped the dink and went to go see the Queen's Bath. Really neat area! We actually moved a bit south to anchor for the night as the Queen's Bath anchorage was a bit rolly.
2/27 - Queen's Baths to Hatchet Bay - Still heading south, this is a nice protected anchorage. Went into town and had some delicious grouper fingers and a couple of beers before walking around town.
2/28 - Hatchet Bay to Pelican Cay. We stayed on the north side as we expected some swells from the southeast. Peaceful anchorage except for the jets taking off from the airport. Had the anchorage and beach all to ourselves...wonderful place!
3/1 - Seeing weather coming in, we decided to hole up a while so we went from Pelican Cay to the Rock Sound Harbour in south Eleuthera. From here we will make the jump to the exumas when the weather and seas settle a bit!
