Grapevine Cove to home port. We awoke to less than 6" under keel. Cold temperatures and blustery breezes from the WNW. It was a slog to weather with the maximum recorded wind speed of 31.5 knots. At the mouth of Eastern Bay we used engine assist to get across the bay with choppy seas and adverse current. Once across, we had an exciting close reach to Whitehall Bay. An exciting conclusion to seven days on the Chesapeake made comfortable and enjoyable with the upgrade of solar panels, lithium batteries, high output alternators, 12 volt heat pumps and a water maker.
