Gorgeous sunny day but chilly in the 40s. Wind was 10-15NNW. We sailed up to the turning basin and did some POBs (nailed my first quick stop in months, yeah!) and beat back to DSC. Broached for the first time over by UA/Dominoes which was...wet. And cold. But actually not particularly concerning in the moment. I was on the low side having just uncleated the jib sheet and found myself laying in the harbor while still seated in the cockpit. My instinct was to just hold on and wait a moment, and then we popped back up easy peasy. (Well, easy ... a bit of yelling about blowing the main..peasy...lol) My vest didn't even go off (thank goodness, THAT would have really annoyed me) as my front didn't get wet at all. I did not enjoy the gallon of cold water down my neck into my foulies and sloshing around dripping into my boots for the next hour though. Oh well. Cool to know it's much less dramatic than it looks from the outside. I'm sure I'd feel differently if the spinnaker had been up though. That still scares me.
