Back on the boat this Wednesday after skipping last week for vacation. Nice conditions with moderate breeze, and we switched up the lineup and I got to play on the foredeck today. We pulled off a fairly good start, but spent some time in bad air trying to find a lane. Never getting one, we ended up carrying our line far left, and played that side of the course to the windward mark. We did a clean rounding, and debated whether a spinnaker was called for on the reach. We ultimately did deploy it, and sailed a clean, fast leg. RC shortened to the next mark, and a shift made for a mostly upwind ride back to the finish. Another 5th place finish (hard to compete with the J/70s on a spinnaker reach) but nonetheless a spectacular evening to be out on the water enjoying the views.
