Chesapeake Bay Bristol Club
Prospective new members are invited to attend a lunch meeting of the Chesapeake Bay Bristol Club (CBC) on Saturday, May 9, at 11:30 a.m. at Providence Club House in Annapolis on Mill Creek. Event details can be found at cbclub.info. There you can also view the calendar and join, inquire, or RSVP to any event during the year. We would welcome the opportunity to introduce you to CBC members and answer questions you may have. Use the email link on the “Joining” page to reach membership director Rebecca Burka.

Recently a group of CBC members met for brunch at Eggcellence Brunchery in Annapolis. The gathering was informal, casual, and offered a pleasant change of routine. Expectations were met and satisfied with made-to-order fresh food, extensive boat-related conversations including boat modifications, and taking a quiz and winning a prize. Pete Madden was the “cruise captain.” Mickey Doran crafted a nautical quiz focusing on maritime topics and challenged locals Elinor Adensam, Lynne Hoot, Will Hottle, Val Taliaferro, Brian Taliaferro, Ted Reinhold, Michael Zenger, and Pete Madden to test their knowledge. There was a four-way tie, so a tie-breaker question was read. Val was declared the lucky winner and claimed his prize, a beautifully turned bowl made and contributed by Pete.
Bristol sailboats on the Chesapeake Bay is the club’s nostalgic heritage and building our Bristol fleet continues to be a club goal; however, membership is open to all who enjoy sailing. The CBC has a year-round calendar of events, but no clubhouse to maintain. To be a member you don’t have to own a Bristol (or any boat). Dues are still only $45 per year.
We look forward to meeting any prospective members and enjoying the 2026 season together.
