CBCC is Ready for the 2026 Season

CBCC gets it done

Compass Boating Club of the Chesapeake (CBCC) had its first on-water event of the season called “Get R Done” on April 25-26 when we rafted in Fairlee Creek.

CBCC members gathered on the shoreline for a spring sock burning.

Next up is our Spring Fling from May 17-21 when we will explore the Chester River. The weather can be iffy in May, so the Chester is the perfect place for quick refuge to protected anchorages. Laura Keough and new member Tom Kocubinski are co-chairing this event with lots of scenic spots on the itinerary. For those unavailable for the entire five days, there are a few marina stops with dinners planned so even drive-alongs can join in. Members should check for emails and the events tab on our Facebook page for details.

In June, we will dovetail with the Maryland Sail250 celebration with a cruise itinerary that  includes two days in Baltimore to take in the Tall Ships and Air Show. Unfortunately, procrastinators will have to catch up before or after as all marinas in the area have extensive waiting lists (those who showed an interest in January have secured their slips and are good to go).

We welcome new members Jim Hontz and Jay and Margi Morand this spring as we continue to build our club, which is now in its third sailing season. We look forward to getting to know everyone as we enjoy the Chesapeake’s offerings on both sides of the Bay.

If you would like to be part of a boating club that is tailored to your sailing interests, please send a brief description of your experience, contact information and expectations to [email protected]. We look forward to hearing from you.
