FAQ About SpinSheet Skating Night

SpinSheet Skating Night Most Frequently Asked Questions

Every year around this time, sailors ask us “When’s SpinSheet Skating Night?” Well, guess what? It’s tonight! Wednesday January 22 from 6-9 p.m. Here are our most frequently asked questions about this lighthearted winter event:

What is it?

A fun night of skating in circles among sailing friends. Come with a bunch of friends. Come on your own. There will be a bunch of us there from SpinSheet.

Where and When?

Quiet Waters Park Ice Rink in Annapolis from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Do you have to be a sailor to go?

Nope. Bring friends. Bring neighbors. Bring coworkers. Bring that cool sailing friend who’s always up for outdoor fun.

Is it a kids’ event?

Yes, but sometimes most of them are big kids. Bring your kids. Bring friends with kids. All the cool kids are welcome.

Do I have to pay park entrance or parking fees?

No, you may enter the park and park your car for free.

How much does it cost to do SpinSheet Skating Night?

To get your SpinSheet discount ($1 off!), tell the rink staff you’re with SpinSheet: $6 for adults, $5 for seniors (over 60), $5 for kids, free for kids under 3. Skate rentals cost $3.

Do you need to bring cash?

It’s nice to have if you’re buying hot chocolate or food from the café, but the rink office now accepts credit cards.

Will it get cold?

Um, yeah. It’s January. The forecast calls for 32 degrees and 4 knots of wind. Layer up and wear good wool socks and ski gloves. There’s a nice fireplace inside if you want to take a break and warm up in between laps around the rink.

Will you get mad if I don’t come?

No. But if you do show up, with friends, we’ll think you’re one of the cool kids.

Will you have another SpinSheet Skating Night this winter?

We hope to, but tend to pick the dates based on our deadlines, demand from sailors, and what kind of mood our editor is in in February. In other words, maybe.
