Sharks with Lasers Regatta

I accepted a last-minute invite to participate in SMSA's annual "Sharks with Lasers" one-design regatta. I borrowed my boat from a club member well up the creek, and he towed me out to the river, where I found little breeze. The fleet slowly made its way across the basin, and the wind filled shortly and allowed us to start racing. We managed five races with twelve competitors, with a mix of windward/leewards and Olympic triangles. I spent much of the time learning, and definitely didn't put on my best performance ever. I only capsized once, and managed to stay out of last place for the whole regatta. A picture-perfect day on the water and I enjoyed learning and sailing on a boat that's new to me.
