The colors are raised for the 121st Opening Day at the Corinthian YC of Philadelphia (CYCOP).  The Wednesday evening race series is now under way with spirited competition among the J-22 and Vanguard 15 fleets.  CYCOP members are also active on the Chesapeake Bay where most keep their cruising boats. The CYCOP has a special affinity for the bay since two of its members, George and Robert Barrie are credited with bringing recreational cruising to the Chesapeake in 1897.  They published the Bay's first cruising guide in 1909...

Editor's Note: We gave CYCOP the prize this month for best typo. This originally read that club members kept their "cursing boats" on the Chesapeake! This, we think, is a swell idea, especially when sailing in such a shallow body of water. Cursing and Cruising do have some things in common.
