Herrington Harbour Sailing Association remains active despite the continuing frigid temperatures that have been affecting our region this year.

On February 8, the club held it annual Soup Night Social at the home of Laurie and Dave Albert in Reston.  Creative recipes and good company were enjoyed by all.  The following day on the ninth, approximately 60 club members participated in our annual Racing Strategy and Tactics Seminar held at Herring on the Bay in Rosehaven.  J World provided the speaker as we went in depth on crew dynamics, rig tuning, strategy, tactics and the rules of racing.

Not to be outdone our Women Underway group held their monthly get together on Sunday, the 16th at The Public House at National Harbor, MD.

On the 22nd the club held it's annual Land Cruise hosted by Linda and Maris Eshleman at Coconut Joe's in Edgewater.  The program was presented by James "Randy" Renn, a marine surveyor.  Randy talked about issues to consider in buying and selling a boat along with general maintenance issues.

We are looking forward to the ever warming weather with a Race Management Seminar in April as well as the first of our many weekend cruises.  Our first scheduled cruise is the April Fool's Cruise to Oxford, MD, now an annual event.   See the club website at HHSA.org for details on these and other events or to become a member!
