We left the West Canal Marina and headed to Tonawanda, New York. This is pretty much the end of the Erie canal, so that means we have traveled over 360 miles, 43+ locks, and have met countless wonderful people!
We spent Friday through Monday nights at the Tonawanda city dock, which is in a really great area - lots of restaurants, bars, shops, and a grocery store. We picked up our mail also – we have a forwarding service out of Green Cove Springs, Florida that we use. We were also able to go down to Buffalo, to the Anchor Bar. This is the place where the buffalo wing was first invented. We also went up to Niagara Falls and spent an afternoon there – magnificent!
This morning, July 20, we traversed the Black Rock Lock at Buffalo and are now on Lake Erie, headed to Dunkirk for the night.
