We had some feirce compatition in this series! another boat in our fleet called Elan was jsut squeeking out wins on us each week! The last two races we finaly got them! but not enough to correct over them on points... but we closed the gap!
GOV CUP... This was a race I had been looking forward to for over 3 years of owning my boat. I had done the race befor on a friends boat, but never on my own. We ended up taking third place in our class for our first time completing the course. We finished at 3:24am! It was also the fasted id ever finished the race...lol.
With no AP spinaker, we were left with only our reacing kite... not great, however... a new spinaker was in the works. We still managed to have a clean finish and took advantage of our staysail!
The Smith point race was...well... interesting and costly. We ended up having a realy bad broch and tore a spinnaker in half, but then ended up hitting our current top speed ever at 10.4kts sailing wing on wing. It was a crazy day! oh and the storms... high seas, and rum?? LOL
SMSA Zanhizers series is the second series of racing for the club. I made half the races and the other half we ran the RC boat for the fleet. WE picked up 2 new sailers during this time and they have stayed abard for the season!
Had a great time racing the Broken Rudder event at our Club. We still had the old sails from the boat so our performance was not a good as it could have been. Regardless, it was fun to see how we compair agaist other types of boats!
Double handed race for 12.38nm. With the winds out of the north and clocking east, we were able to sail the rumb line on the whole course, only falling off for a short time heading to the 3rd leg of the course.
