Mount Gay Rum Red Cap Photo of the Week

Congratulations to this week’s winner of the Mount Gay Rum Photo of the Week Contest, Mark Baummer. He writes, “Dahlia is super excited that her dad raced his first ever Helly Hansen Sailing World Series! This was my first race on our new to us J/80 Jormungandr, including my 15-year-old daughter as crew. Seriously, I’ve wanted a red hat my whole life, and I’ve been sailing almost my whole life. I was SUPER STOKED to finally get one! What an amazing weekend!” Submit your Mt. Gay Red Cap photos to [email protected] anytime for a chance to win prizes every week.

Mount Gay Red Cap Photo of the Week

Back by popular demand... red caps!! If you snap a photo of a sailor wearing a Mount Gay Rum Red Cap anytime this season, send it to [email protected] for a chance to win the Red Cap of the Week and Mount Gay prizes! You MUST include the photographer's name, as the photographer is the one to win the prizes (and SpinSheet must have permission to run it). Find our 2025 Mount Gay Rum Red Cap Gallery here and the 2026 one (just getting started) here.

Congratulations to Jeff Thompson for being our first winner of the 2026 season! He sent us this photo of the Cal 25 Arctic Tern crew during the Helly Hansen Sailing World Regatta Series securing second place. From right to left: Jeff (tactician), Sean (jib trimmer), H. Marie (owner/skipper), Jim (foredeck), and Mark (main trimmer). This was the first time the crew had sailed together, and in some sporty conditions with reports of gusts over 30 kts. Congratulations, team!
