What Can We Do about Toxic Plastics in the Chesapeake

A trash trap designed by Masaya Maeda of the Anacostia Watershed Society provides monthly data on the types of trash flowing into the river.

From water bottles to microbeads, toxic plastic is everywhere on the Bay. What can we do about it? Annapolis Green and Trash Free Maryland announce a presentation on toxic plastic and what that means for our health and that of the Chesapeake.

Join the discussion on TUESDAY, OCTOBER 13 (new date!), at the Annapolis Maritime Museum from 7-9 p.m. Speakers include Julie Lawson, the director of Trash Free Maryland, public health educator and Maryland Delegate Clarence Lam, M.D., a representative of the National Aquarium, and others. Refreshments will be served. Admission is free, but donations will be appreciated.  For more information contact: Elvia Thompson, Annapolis Green, [email protected] or Julie Lawson, Trash Free Maryland, [email protected]
