A whole day of practice on the water with J/105 Chessie. You know it's a good day when you're exhausted yet smiling at the end. Learned a ton, ready to practice some more next time!

Too much wind for the planned day sail on a friend's J/105, so we spent a couple of productive hours doing work. Mostly I focused on removing some old birds' nests from inside the boom, which we discovered while debugging the root cause of a sticky out haul. I've watched a lot of boat maintenance videos on YouTube but never one about this! We made sure to plug the open ends of the boom before leaving.
Another Monday Night Races in the books, after a morning hunting puffs in light airs with some friends.
What a beautiful spring day. Consistent wind started around 10kt and built to maybe 13. Out and back, just feeling the sun and the first on my face.
Monday Night Rainbows, what else is there to say?
Sunday Night Races at Annapolis Sailing School. Sailing season has officially begun!
Light winds today. Spent the afternoon shopping maneuvers perfectly to avoid losing what little momentum I could work up, and reading "the course" to find where there might be wind. Slow, challenging practice.
It was just me and Scirocco the rainbow, in a shifty 10 knots of breeze generally out of the southeast, will occasional gusts up to 14. I did tt1 out to HP and back in 11m51s, and tt2 out to the NOAA buoy and back in 26m11s. Did one practice touch and go before docking. A pleasant afternoon.
Headed out solo on a breezy day, 10-12 gusting 16. Did some tacks and jibes, some pointing and playing the puffs, hove to a few times, reefed and shook out, just doing things to bring back that muscle memory. Finished with 30 minutes of touch and goes with a breeze pushing me into the dock. I swear this is the best sailing practice - not just the docking but also maneuvering in tight quarters. All this in just amazing late spring weather - are you kidding me? Perfection.
I've got that exhausted smile that is the best proof of a good day out.
15kt, gusting 20. Took orange Mistral out with L. Reefed main the whole way but going fast. A few laps around the buoys then wing-on practice down to Tolley Pt and a beat back to the school. About 9mi.
