Great day on the school Tartan Caraluna with friends.  Wish there were more breeze but we flew the spin anyway and had a great time!

A pleasant tour around Spa Creek with C.  I did all the boat handling solo, including in and out of the boat ramp and docking at the dinghy dock at Ego Alley, with a minimum of fuss.  Very pleased about that, I can take DG out alone with confidence now.

  • One of my favorite things about Annapolis Sailing School - docking under sail

A promising breeze died off so we had to shorten the course.  After a 2nd row start we played the shifts and asserted our rights on a bigger sailboat to round the first mark in first!  Then we steadily lost places on the long legs as we fought tooth and nail to match other boats' speed.  I'm still not sure why we were so consistently slower than almost every other boat, but I do know that we had a blast trying like hell to figure it out!
