Terrible start in light wind but managed to pull out a 4th place
Century Club: Keith Midgette
3rd place out of 3 in light air to begin with, then it picked up on the last leg. After finishing the race my crew wanted to get some spinnaker practice in so rather than go back to the club for drinks, hoisted the spinnaker and had a wonderful sail.
New crew, good wind, good time.
Getting our granddaughter aka “Lil Commodore” out on Luna Blu
Unsuccessfully spent day troubleshooting non functional G-Wind and Depth Sounder system..Probably NMEA network issue that exhuasted my abilities to fix.
Disappointing performance ion a day when the 16-20 knot wind should have brought a win, Luna Blu placed 4th out of 6 boats. Shorthanded with only 2 crew, we got a late start but closed the gap by the windward mark, but just couldn't get the boat moving faster on the downwind leg to catch the boats ahead of us, and not enough distance on the final upwind leg to catch any boats. Crew and Skipper were exhausted by the time we got back to Old Point, but it was a fun race.
Short crewed, poor start (I hate rabbit starts) , ripped headsail, crew with injured back, typical race day for Luna Blu- however, there was wind and we had a great day on the water...
Good wind but it didn't he\lp...
