JUNE 7 THROUGH JUNE 16, 2020 (10 DAYS)

Returned to my new slip at Hartge Yacht Harbor in Galesville, MD from my winter slip at Harborwalk Marina in Georgetown, SC via AICW. My crew mate was Bill Cullen, a 100 ton skipper and highly experienced sailor. We had a fast passage, keeping up sail on most of the ICW - even on narrow stretches - due to consistent southerly winds.

The Bay leg took three days of sailing close hauled into ENE winds varying from 10 to 20 knots. We departed Hampton, VA on June 6 at 5pm to catch moderating winds. We sailed NE across the Bay to just north of Tilghman Island were we dropped the hook in shallow water a couple of miles off shore at 12:30 am June 7. Sailing NE, we passed 3 frighters anchored abreast around 10pm. This night sail setup our second day sailing WNW to Solomans Island as winds clocked from ENE to E. We dropped the hook at dusk. The 3rd day, June 8, winds returned to ENE. We sailed close hauled up the Bay to the West River, docking about 5:30 pm in my new slip at HYH.
