Days on the Water 2021
- 1/30: Boat work day at Markley’s. Put on tarp for snow.
- 2/12: First day on Vayu. Had pain killers at the dock and cruised to Cruz Bay to stay the night on a mooring ball.
- 2/13: Second day on Vayu. Left the mooring ball to position ourselves for the trip to St. Croix, but decided to head back following engine trouble. Grabbed another mooring ball in Cruz Bay and hiked into town for smoothies. Yann and Jill snorkeled back at the boat.
- 2/14: Third day on Vayu. Left first thing in the morning and sailed to St. Croix. Saw a lot of flying fish. 25-30 knots. Walked to lunch in town and all took naps when we got back to the boat. Had shrimp “spa dinner”.
- 2/15: Fourth day on Vayu. Went to Buck Island. Attempted to dinghy to the other side but turned back after a lot of bailing and big waves/wind. Snorkeled, had grilled chicken sandwiches, and Yann gave Jill a diving lesson. Yann used his local lure on the way back without luck. Had drinks at the marine store bar, dinner at Savant, and Ed, Jill and Yann had another round at the marine shop before bed.
- 2/16: Fifth day on Vayu. Staying in St. Croix longer than initially planned due to incoming weather/wind. Dinghy ride to hunt lobsters and then to the boardwalk for Pain Killers. Took another dinghy ride in the evening for happy hour drinks.
- 2/19: Eighth day on Vayu. Sailed from St. Croix to Big Lamshear mooring.
- 2/20: Ninth day on Vayu. Motored from mooring to dock.
- 3/8: Boat work at Markley’s. Scraped barnacles- forgot key and couldn’t do interior work
- 3/14: Boat work at Markley’s. Lifelines, aft berth headliner, measured lines
- 3/19: Boat work at Markley’s (took off tarp, etc)
- 3/20: Boat work at Markley’s. Yann worked on the keel; Jill worked on the headliner
- 3/26: Boat work at Markley’s (Yann painted keel. Jill sat in cockpit)
- 3/27: Boat work at Markley’s (Yann painted keel, Jill packed to move)
- 4/3: Boat work. Installed new headliner in aft berth and secured liner in vberth. Prepped bottom and hull.
- 4/4: Boat work. Cleansed and waxed hull. Painted bottom.
- 4/15: wiped down wood, put back soft goods
- 4/17: Dropped Alma Lynn in the morning and raced Legacy in BCYA’s Icebreaker and after party at the BMI
- 4/18: Delivered Alma Lynn from Markley’s to Anchorage with Don, Sean & Rachel, Joley & Nico
- 4/20: First Tuesday night race on Legacy
- 4/26: Showed Christina & Drew Kindred Spirit with Don. Quick motor out and back.
- 4/27: Tuesday Night Racing on Legacy

- 5/18: Tuesday night cruise with Legacy crew (Legacy out due to jib foil)
- 5/22: Delivering Whistle Jacket home with Don, Greg, Yann & Jill. Left Cambridge at 10:15am. Docket at Annapolis Yacht Basin at 7pm and had dinner at Boatyard.
- 5/23: Sally and Mike joined us in Annapolis for the trip home to Anchorage. Left the dock at 10:20am and docked at Anchorage at 4:30. Mark and Lisa met us at the pier and Nancy brought the girls down for burgers on the pier.
- 5/25: Sailing near BCYA races on Whistle Jacket with Yann, Mal & Don. Speed testing! Legacy still not racing.
- 5/26: Raft up in Jones Creek for Memorial Day (Whistle Jacket & Alma Lynn). Bradleys, Szydlowskis, and Yann.
- 6/1: Tuesday night sailing on Full Moon (Legacy out)
- 6/2: Helping Christina & Drew with Kindred Spirit and moving it back to its slip
- 6/8: Tuesday night racing on Legacy
- 6/9: Wednesday night racing on Whistle Jacket
- 6/12: Yann & Joe’s Rock Hall weekend. Jill hopped on and got dropped off at home.
- 6/13: Yann & Joe’s Rock Hall weekend. Picked Christina and I up for a quick lap around the harbor after her engagement brunch.
- 6/16: Yann & Jill’s annual end of the school year trip! Left the dock at 6:08pm and headed for Annapolis. Grilled dinner underway. Enjoyed the summer sailstice week’s extra hours of daylight. Anchored at 10:35
- 6/17: Yann & Jill’s annual end of the school year trip! Left anchor at 7:56. Got to Zahnisers at 4:30.
- 6/18: Yann & Jill’s annual end of the school year trip! Dinghy ride around Solomon’s.
- 6/19: Yann & Jill’s annual end of the school year trip! Left the dock in Solomon’s at 9:35. Stopped to swim and gave crab wine. Jill saw 9 skates! There were baby crabs floating by the sugar scoop. Got to Haven Harbour North about 4:30 and had cocktails at the pool before birthday dinner on the boat.
- 6/20: Left the dock at 10:40. Saw dolphins! Hit 7.75 kts with the spinnaker up. Pulled into the slip at about 7:00 after doing a quick loop downtown.

- 6/30: Harbor Cruise with Goodrich’s. Briefly tied up in Fells Point to let storms pass.
- 7/2: Rock Hall trip with Palmore’s. Stayed at Haven Harbour. Met up with Mark and Lisa for crabs at Waterman’s. Stayed at Haven Harbour.
- 7/3: Rock Hall trip with Palmore’s. Watched the 4th of July parade in town. Anchored in Swan Creek, visited Foxy, and did a MD safari on Safiki.
- 7/4: Rock Hall trip with Palmore’s. Left the dock at 8:15 to head home. Made it to Anchorage about 12:30.

- 7/17: Race to Baltimore on Legacy
- 7/18: Whistle Jacket Gov Cup Prep/sail with Don, Sally, Mallory
- 7/20: Tuesday night racing on Whistle Jacket

- 7/29: Whistle Jacket delivery to Jabin’s for Gov Cup (6:15-10:40)
- 7/31: Delivery from SMC (Governor's Cup) to Solomon's (Zahniser's) with Sally, Mallory, Jenn
- 8/1: Delivery from Solomon's to Annapolis. Docked at Annapolis Yacht Basin and took Mom and Dad to dinner at Pusser's before taking their car home and leaving them to sleep on the boat and delivery it home to Balitmore on 8/2.
