Century Club: Antoinette Wilkins
Took boat out of the slip to grab on a mooring ball so that I could dive and clean the hull water line and the prop.
Entered the Fall Race to Oxford, CRCA A class, wind was on the light side and the course was shortened and we never even got to sail up the Choptank. Sailed/motored to TAYC and enjoyed the party afterwards the next morning our start time was 8:40 and now the winds were 17-20kts once we got on the first windward leg of the course. After that it was all downwind to the finish and all the way home to Rock Hall. Did about 40miles in 7 hours, average speed 6kts. At times we were surfing the waves and reached over 9kts!
Sailed out with my friend on her 48' Beneteau on her 60th birhtday with her son. Thought it would be a good day to show her the cut over the sandbar. My boat draws 5.5 and hers almost 6. We headed west after green can 5 towards the range marker at high tide and she was recording 8ft depth. I advised not to do during a NE wind at low tide or full moon.
Accomponied my friend as she ran the dinghy for the last time before winterizing and storing for the season. We ran down Swn creek to depths that our sailboats couldnt even go and afterwards I helped her lauinch onto the trailer and take her out of the water.
Invited onmy friends Powerboat to go over and raft up on Conquest beach. When we got there it was pouring so we tried to wait it out. After about an hour it stopped but we got a few jelly fish stings so we went back to the marian to the pool.
Finished 5 out of 9 boats in our class for this benefit regatta. Got a slip at mears Marina and enjoyed the party and sailed back the next day.

Sunday sail with my cousin and her family. Predicted winds were well in excess of 13kts, steady 15kts with some 16-17kts moments as well. Thankfully had two reefs in but too much Jib at first but the Whang family helped adjust with some on the fly instruction. The novices did very well as we tacked up and out of the harbor due south close hauled. Returned downwind with a few gibes before the later predicted 20kt gusts appeared. Everyone had a great time sailing and crashing through the waves and enjoyed a few splashes on a very hot day. Hit the pool afterwards.
In preparation for having my cousin's family out to sail the next day when winds were predicted to be around 13-15kts. I proactively went out with a crew member to test that I could do the reefing myself, anticiapting little help from my cousins who had no experience.
