Century Club: Hank Messick
First time in a couple of years that I inflated my SUP. No leaks, thankfully but some of the glue on handles, attachment rings were peeling off especially the housing for the rudder. Despite these issues I went out on the water. My stroking form needs to be honed but I didn't lose my balance. Good times.
Took "line honors" in the Spin fleet but ended up in second place after the rating correction was made.
Tried out my sports camera for the first time. Mounted it to the Bimini frame. Got about 45' of sailing before the battery went dead. Experimented with Genoa car leads and was pleased with the "new" 24:1 mainsheet fine adjustment tackle.
Wind out of the SSW gusting to 18 knot and and a one foot chop made for exhilarating conditions to fly the asymmetrical chute. We turned eight knots downwind but could only hold a course for a few minutes before needing to jibe to the other side of the river.
Folks on the passing water taxis and on shore took and interest in our drills which we executed well.
