Daysailed "Volantis", a friend's 50' Dickerson ketch, to Cambridge to get some work performed on her electronics. Very little breeze which was alway on our nose but the "iron genny" moved us along at 6+ knots. A good looking Hinkley out of Oxford ghosted accross our bow---the only sailboat we saw all day with sails up.

The Ferris Wheel at National Harbor
Took a friend out for an evening on the water. Steady 5-6 knot breeze. Most people living in Alexandria, Arlington, DC do not get to see the beauty that surrounds them from the water. If only the roar of jet engines at National airport would cease at sundown!

Light easterly winds and lots of powerboat wake made jibing frustrating at times as we sailed north along the Potomac. After getting to where the Potomac and Anacostia merge we had enough east-west area to Practise. Powerboats and commercial boats churned the water.
