  • Why we do it!

From my last log we cruised the beautiful coast of Maine and ate our weight in Lobstah! We hit thick fog banks, met a lot of whales, saw puffins, seals, and the most incredible scenery. We dodged storms and ducked into our temporary Annapolis slip just before the Chesapeake Bay was shut down due to a bad storm. Then there was the Annapolis Boat Show-a party like no other. Heading South, we stopped at all our favorites and met up with many friends along the way ~ Solomons Island, Deltaville. Norfolk VA, Coinjock NC, Okracoke, Manteo, Oriental NC, Beaufort NC, Swansboro, NC, Wrightsville Beach, NC, Southport NC, Little River, Myrtle Beach, SC, Georgetown, Charleston, SC, Hilton Head, SC,  and finally we stopped at Brunswick, GA for the Holidays which brings us to a total of 342 days on the water. Whew! It has blown by!

Our non stop cruise in January started in Jensen Beach, FL-the Treasure Coast taking us south to West Palm, Fort Lauderdale, beautifulKey Biscayne where we stayed a bit because we like it so much, to visit friends in Big Pine Key and the Back country Keys, back up to Key Biscayne, over to Bimini, Bahamas, New Providence. Andros Island, the water colors of the Exumas, Eleuthera and Spanish Wells, to our beloved Abacos where Hurricane recovery gets better every year, to West End, Grand Bahama as final Bahamas stop. There we crossed to West Palm and headed up the East Coast stopping briefly in our favorite towns until returning to Annapolis where about 3 weeks were spent preparing Bliss to go the furthest North she has ever been. We are presently at Usle if Shoals, NH en route to Maine and Acadia National Park, Penobscot Bay and the likes. We cruise constantly having taken approx 2 months total at the maximum on shore for day stops, family visits, boat work since January 1st.

We will return south to the Chesapeake for the Boat Show and family and friend visits at the end of September. No later than October 21st, we will be on our way South again with the possibility of exploring the West Coast of Florida and venturing either back to the Bahamas or the Yucatán and Belize. We will see.
