Felt like I was fighting wind and tide on this cold March day. And then I cracked my kayak when I was getting back on the dock. Blergh!
Century Club: Eva Hill
Very breezy today, with choppy seas. That's where our heavy little Dyer 29 Heron excels -- she just takes on the chop like a champ, giving us a spirited cruise around the South River and Glebe Bay. Nice to get out there!
A run of decent weather meant that we could get the bottom painted and have Heron launched today. The first turn of the ignition key of the season is always a breath-held affair, but she started right up, and the still and calm weather (pre-forecast-thunderstorms) made it easy work to get her in the slip. Hello spring?
Beautiful warm and calm day.
It's not raining for a change, and with the temp above 50, it's time to get out there. Some miscreant tried to steal my kayak from the community rack, so my lock was all wonky, but that was the hardest part of the trip. Paddled around Crab Creek for about an hour.
